Bionovi
A New Path for Mental Health
At Bionovi, I offer a fresh approach to mental health care—one that honours science, story, systems, and the soul.
I believe that wellbeing is not just about managing symptoms, but about restoring connection—to self, others, nature, and meaning.
This is care that evolves with you.
What Bionovi Means
Bionovi is a name I created to reflect this philosophy.
It combines two powerful roots:
Bio – from the Greek bios, meaning life
Novi – from Latin and Slavic roots meaning new, fresh, or renewed
Together, Bionovi means new life—a symbol of possibility, resilience, and the potential for growth in even the most difficult circumstances.
My work is grounded in the belief that mental health doesn’t exist in isolation. It’s shaped by our biology, our relationships, our environments, and our experiences. And the research is clear: when we care for people, animals, and the planet together, everyone benefits.
I draw on frameworks like Planetary Health, One Health, and Ecohealth, all of which show the interconnectedness of human wellbeing, environmental stewardship, and compassionate systems. This philosophy guides everything I do.
What I Offer
I provide flexible, trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health consulting services that reflect both clinical depth and lived experience. Services include:
Individual and group therapy
Recovery-oriented support for complex mental health and trauma
Psychoeducation and wellbeing programs
Professional consultation and training
Program design and service innovation
I also explore integrative and emerging approaches—such as nature-based interventions, somatic strategies, and psychedelic integration—with respect, ethics, and science in mind.
Why It Matters
Mental health care needs to evolve.
Many people are disconnected from care that feels personal, empowering, and aligned with what really matters. Too often, mental health services feel fragmented, medicalised, or hard to access.
I created Bionovi to change that.
I work with people who want more than just a clinical label—they want understanding, clarity, tools, and a chance to reconnect with life in a meaningful way. Whether through therapy, consulting, or program development, I aim to help create systems and services that support whole-person wellbeing.
How I Work
I bring together the science of occupational therapy, the principles of health promotion, and two decades of frontline mental health experience to offer care that is:
Person-centred – grounded in your values, goals, and identity
Evidence-based – informed by current research and clinical best practice
Integrative – drawing on physical, emotional, social, and ecological dimensions of health
Trauma-informed – creating safety, choice, and trust
Recovery-oriented – focused on strengths, self-agency, and real-world outcomes
Who I Work With
I work with adults, families, professionals, and organisations—particularly those who value integrity, collaboration, and innovation in care.
I also welcome partnerships with:
Clinicians and mental health teams
Community organisations and advocacy groups
My Story
I grew up surrounded by mental health care—both in my family and in my own life. With parents who worked in the field, and my own experiences of mental health challenges as a teen, I learned early on how important it is to have support, skills, and compassion.
I began working in mental health in 2001 while completing my first degree in Health Promotion. Later, I returned to study Occupational Therapy and graduated from Curtin in 2013.
Since then, I’ve worked across diverse settings—private practice, hospitals, NGOs, and consulting roles—bringing a practical, human approach to complex problems. I love my work as an OT because it allows me to meet people where they are and walk alongside them through change.
Bionovi is the culmination of my personal journey and professional evolution. It’s where life and newness meet.
Values
Compassion. Service. Authenticity. Reliability.
Values need to be upfront. These are our values. Bionovi is about providing compassionate mental health services. It is about behaving with authenticity. It about being reliable. Reliability means follow through and to build trust.
There are many ways to work through mental health issues, however only a few key things really matter. The first step is finding a professional that you feel comfortable to talk to. Secondly, it is important to start focusing on what matters without getting lost in all the options and pop psych tips out there.
Mental health and pain care services should always be safe and high quality. As a group of registered health professionals in Australia, we are accountable to our patients, clients and their families as well as professional registration bodies as well as our colleagues.
Our approach is to focus on the big picture about what affects our health and function. We truly take an integrated ‘holistic’ approach.
